All About Andy

It is time for a post about my wonderful husband.  We have had lots of Andy-related stuff happening lately.

His parents came to visit us for a week in October.  We had a great time with them!  My father-in-law was busy working on many little projects around our home.  He helped us cross a number of things off our to-do list and also a lot of things that weren't even on our radar yet.  Andy's Mom helped with making meals and we went out to a consignment sale and story time at the library together.  We all went to the pumpkin patch and out to dinner one evening.  They watched Philip one night so Andy and I could go on a date.  We went out for appetizers and drinks and then saw the movie, Courageous.  The movie was great and we were so glad that the timing of the trip allowed us to go support it in the theaters.

Andy turned in the full draft of his dissertation the other week.  I am amazed at how quickly the revision process went, considering how painstaking each and every chapter was to write the first time.  He managed to cut his dissertation from over 600 pages to 380.  Pretty amazing!  His director had wanted him to get it down to 350, but we are hoping he will feel that this is close enough.  While his director is reviewing the document, Andy is working on filling in footnotes and compiling his bibliography.  If it passes his director's review, he will just need to make any recommended revisions and then it can go into the readers.  We are getting close!

His favorite baseball team, the amazing St. Louis Cardinals won the World Series!

Andy was recently appointed to a high level job in his organization.  He will start at the beginning of 2012 when the person currently in the position retires.  A press release announcing his appointment went out and it was picked up in quite a few media outlets.  If you have any prayers to spare, please say a few for Andy.  He will need it in his new position!

We celebrated Andy's birthday this week.  It was a low key affair.  I made a light breakfast for him before he went off to work.  In the evening we had his traditional birthday meal - dinner nachos and of course, cake!

I am so proud of my husband!  He is an amazing, godly man, wonderful father, and my best friend.
